| Williams
- Commitment and Quality Service For over Three Generations |
|
Our
story is one that goes all the way back to 1929 when
our founder, George James Williams borrowed $50 to purchase
a Dodge Touring Van. With two helpers, a great care
for people, and a vision of success, Williams Transfer
was born. Through his commitment to the unique moving
needs of his customers, Williams Transfer steadily grew
and expanded - along with its reputation as a quality
mover.
To help with his father's expanding business; George
"Sonny" Williams joined the company in 1949
at age sixteen. This was also the year Williams Transfer
became known as Williams Moving & Storage.
Sonny's dedication, vision, and care for people took
the business to even higher levels. He became an ambassador
of the moving industry and asource of inspiration for
all who knew him. Sonny served as |
president of United Van Lines (Canada) from 1968 to
1972, pioneered the development of domestic moving containers
in the 1970's, and added Williams International in 1981.
Sonny's global network and strong leadership firmly
established Williams at the forefront of the industry.
In 1996, his son George "Jim" Williams followed
the path of his father and grandfather and continues
to expand the family business and its reputation through
a commitment to personalized service, care for all employees,
and by delivering what is promised without exception.
